Everyday may not be good, but there's something good in every day:

Some people just aren't worth it, let them go. I used to be so incredibly wrapped up in the approval of people who didn’t care about me. This year, though, I started to actively brush off the people who weren’t interested in showing me affection in return.

There are people in this world who are not interested in being kind or making right — and there is no reason to give them any of my time. I know that I am worthy and deserving of love, and I remind myself regularly. It soon became clear that chasing them down is only taking time away from the people who actually want to be around me.

I realised that if you want to be happy, you need to be present in the moment, you need to open up your mind and eyes to see the universe from all different sides and angles. You need to be part of your own existence rather than live passively. There’s one sure fire way to do so, and it’s to engage with your own life and push yourself into areas that are outside of your comfort zone. Even the smallest measures you take will count.

Sometimes, I pause for a moment and consider the blessings I do have, and write them down. I think of the air I can breathe or the sheer fact that I have the intellectual, emotional, and spiritual capacity to even acknowledge & think about these things. I think of the truths I hold dear, like honesty and compassion.

I do not think happiness comes from having this or that, nor does it come from other people. Happiness, true happiness, comes from within each individual. It is something that arises from your mind. Happiness is subjective, not a solid force in this universe. Happiness is how we perceive the world around us. Happiness emanates from the mind, it is crucial to cultivate a mindset that will help you allow yourself to be happy.
